Sharks in the Park

Sharks in the Park is an annual community event at the Downtown Commons in Jenks that will feature free hot dogs, a splash zone, yard games, vendor booths and more.

Part of the month-long Sharklahoma celebration, the Oklahoma Aquarium sponsored event will run from 5 pm- 8 pm. A huge thank you to the Jenks Fire Department for providing the splash zone fun. Free hot dogs will be available while supplies last. Bring your family for a sharktastic time!

Cost for participating vendors is $50 for members and $100 for non-members

Jenks Day at the Capitol

Jenks America Food Truck Festival

Food lovers’ favorite annual event returns on Saturday, May 4th, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.!

This event features a variety of popular food trucks and other vendors across the region. Patrons can dine and explore Main Street Jenks, including many unique non-food vendors.

Food trucks greatly contribute toward unique experiences for Jenks visitors who attend our events, and we look forward to continuing our efforts in bringing delicious food options to Jenks and amplifying the sense of community in our city.

February Luncheon Feb. 14

Our February luncheon features Meg Gould and will be held at the Hive on February 14th at noon.

Meg Gould attended Texas Christian University and graduated with a BA in Radio, Television and Film Production. Her film career began in Los Angeles working on such projects as Godzilla (with Matthew Broderick), the Academy Awards, the World Cup, Garth Brooks’ Red Strokes music video and many other film and television productions as a Production Coordinator, Production Manager and Producer.

Meg was named the Executive Director of the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts and Culture in January 2023 and is active in the local, state, and national creative community.

This luncheon is made possible by Andy b’s and will take place at the Hive on December 13th at noon. Chris is a multi-talented actor, comedian, and writer. For over 20 years he has been performing in front of cameras and live audiences alike. Whether in front of thousands at his home church’s legendary live Christmas shows or literally millions with YouTube videos like the “Dad Life”, he loves bringing laughter and joy to audiences. He’s the creator of the unsettling, yet hilarious, personas “Stephen Stephens” and “Ricky Rhodes”, as well as the good hearted southern minister “Pastor Bobby”. His characters have millions of views and over 100k followers on social media.

Lists are great ways to stay on track. Write down some big things you want to accomplish and some smaller things, too.

Check the list regularly

Don’t forget to check in and see how you’re doing. Just because you don’t achieve the big goals right away doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.

Reward yourself

When you succeed in achieving a goal, be it a big one or a small one, make sure to pat yourself on the back.

Think positively

Positive thinking is a major factor in success. So instead of mulling over things that didn’t go quite right, remind yourself of things that did.

You know your audience better than anyone else, so keep them in mind as you write your blog posts. Write about things they care about. If you have a company Facebook page, look here to find topics to write about

Take a few moments to plan your post

Once you have a great idea for a post, write the first draft. Some people like to start with the title and then work on the paragraphs. Other people like to start with subtitles and go from there. Choose the method that works for you.

Don’t forget to add images

Be sure to include a few high-quality images in your blog. Images break up the text and make it more readable. They can also convey emotions or ideas that are hard to put into words.

Edit carefully before posting

Once you’re happy with the text, put it aside for a day or two, and then re-read it. You’ll probably find a few things you want to add, and a couple more that you want to remove.
